We are Aceso Health
Focusing on women's gynaecological and surgical care
We are a private gynaecology and obstetric practice based in Wellington, providing high quality modern advanced gynaecological and surgical care to women. We specialise in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynaecological procedures, in particular for endometriosis, heavy periods, fibroids and pelvic pain.
Patient care and patient welfare are our highest priority, together with a focus on professional development in terms of our skills and knowledge. We love our work and enjoy the companionship and cooperation we share as colleagues.
Aceso - Greek goddess of healing
AKESO (Aceso) was the goddess of curing sickness and healing wounds. Unlike her sister Panakeia she represented the process of curing rather than the cure itself. Her male was counterpart was Akesis (Acesis). In Greek sculpural reliefs Akeso appears alongside her father Asklepios and sisters Hygeia, Panakeia and Iaso.
We chose the name Aceso because we specialise in women's health issues, particularly related to gynaecology and fertility. Our logo is a stylised rata blossom, signifying growth, vitality, compassion, and a gentle approach.
In traditional Māori medicine the bark of the rata tree was steeped in water and used as a lotion to speed wound healing and prevent infection. Rata flowers were said to produce the finest honey.
